Who we serveManufacturing

401(k) advice for manufacturing companies, from the office to third shift.

We help manufacturers review their plans, explain them to employees across shifts and work through payroll handoffs with their providers.

What we often see in manufacturing plans

Low enrollment on the floor

Low participation among eligible employees on the floor can put pressure on annual nondiscrimination testing in plans subject to those tests. Review participation with your plan administrator to understand what needs attention.

Small balances after turnover

Turnover can leave many small balances belonging to former employees. Ask how your providers keep contact information current and handle those accounts under the plan’s rules.

Payroll uploads across locations

Contribution uploads across shifts and locations can involve several handoffs. Clarify who prepares, checks and submits payroll information and who follows up on discrepancies.

Do your employees know what the plan offers?

You set up the plan; the question is whether people on the floor know what's in it and how to use it. We start with what employees ask, what they've heard about the plan and where they get stuck. That might mean walking through enrollment, how to change a contribution or how the match works, if your plan has one.

Reaching second and third shift

A meeting on first shift can miss people who work later. We plan employee education with you around your shifts and locations, using on-site meetings, video and individual conversations as appropriate.

When a group meeting isn't enough

Some questions need more than a group presentation. Employees can schedule individual time for general education, subject to your agreement. These conversations do not provide individualized investment recommendations or legal advice. Graham leads the advisory relationship and is your contact for questions about plan support.

Payroll handoffs across locations

When payroll runs across multiple sites, start by mapping how each location works with the plan’s providers. Who sends information? Who checks it? Who follows up when something does not match? We help you work through those questions with your payroll team, recordkeeper and plan administrator. If a provider change is needed, our provider selection and transition service includes coordinating the move and following up afterward. Payroll processing and plan administration stay with the teams appointed to do that work.

Comparing cost and service

Our fee benchmarking combines your current disclosures, proposals from other providers, market data and Graham's experience. You get a side-by-side cost and service comparison with recommendations. For a manufacturer, that comparison should also cover support across locations, employee education and how much work stays with your office team.

Who's watching the investment menu

We monitor the investment lineup and conduct formal quarterly reviews. Our report covers findings, fund scores, recommendations and any decisions or changes within the authority in your agreement. We're available to discuss the report and your questions.

What to tell us first

Tell us about your locations and shifts, how payroll is handled and how employees hear about the plan now. Bring the questions your office or HR team keeps answering, along with any concerns about participation or provider service. Current plan materials, fee disclosures and service agreements help us understand the starting point. Our review process turns that into a written report and next steps.

Help your whole team understand and make the most of your plan.

In a free plan review, we'll talk through your employees, locations and the support you have now. We'll explain the scope and fees before any ongoing advisory engagement.

A free 45-minute review with a written report of initial findings and next steps. No obligation. Detailed benchmarking and fund scoring are separate services.
